The Simple Men's Beanie by Amanda Salazar Higgins is a fantastic free crochet pattern that is simple enough for anyone to make and also quick enough to make one for all the men in your life.
Worked in the round with sc (single crochet) stitches, this pattern makes up very quickly and is easy to understand. Although you cannot see it so much in my picture there is a lip of sorts around the bottom edge of the hat. It is where this edge was formed that it was little confusing to me. So I offer the following notes for anyone that might have issue with that part of the pattern as well.
Note: on row 34 the instructions say to work in the back loop only. Actually it be the front loop after you make the turn otherwise it makes an indention in your hat and you don't get the ridge for the brim
The hat as it was in this picture was a little short for the taste of the wearer so I even went back and added on a few more rows for length. It's very easy to modify if need be and I rather enjoyed crocheting this hat.
