Hello Kitty Hat

There are not many girls out there that could say no to Hello Kitty.
I personally adore Hello Kitty so that is why  I jumped at the chance to make this hat for a very special little girl.

This Hello Kitty Crochet Hat was made from a free crochet pattern by Elizabeth Pardue.
The first time I made this hat as it was written (pictured above) it came out to be more of a toddler/small child size (approx 21 inches around). I don't think I crochet especially tight but I did remake the pattern for a bigger child and I just used a different free pattern for the ear-flap beanie part. I will put a link to the pattern I used at the end of the post.

After the ear-flap beanie is completed you then just make a few small pieces for the eyes, ears, nose, and last but not least the signature Hello Kitty red bow. Using the picture as reference you position all the additional pieces and then sew on some whiskers.

Using the most basic crochet stitches this pattern is suitable for all skill levels.

You can find this pattern quickly here through my projects page on Ravelry.com or here directly on Elizabeth Perdue's blog  Crochet in Color
